I love my birthday. I love the month of June because my birthday is in it. Not only is my birthday my birthday, it happens to be the longest day of the year and I share my birthday with PRINCE WILLIAM (I consider this a MAJOR perk, go ahead and judge me)!!!

What I love most about birthdays is that it is the one day that most of us tend to live it up. We splurge on that bottle of champagne, we get our hair done, we buy a new handbag, we throw glamorous parties and we do it all because we are treating ourselves because it our birthday.

But what would happen if we lived every day like it was our birthday? How would life be different for us? What if we woke up every morning excited about what the day had in store for us? Imagine a life where we could drink champagne every day, buy ourselves  flowers and balloons just because. Enjoy that ice cream treat or splurge on that handbag that we have worked so hard to be able to buy.

When I turned 30 (a month ago today already), I decided that this would be a year of greatness. I no longer need a reason to enjoy a glass of champagne, get dressed up or spoil myself. I do it because I want to. I am choosing to celebrate every day like it is my birthday. Life is short and I don’t want to waste anymore of my precious time on this earth. I work so hard for the things that I have and this year is all about celebrating. By choosing to focus on the good I am minimizing the time that I can spend on the not so good. And trust me, my life isn’t as bubbly as my flute of champagne, but I am choosing to find joy in all things.

One month in to this new journey of mine and I can honestly say this has been the best month of my life! I was so afraid to turn thirty and now I am embracing every second of it.

How will you celebrate today?
