My Founding Story

Looking at the community we have now, you will see the hundreds of women who gather in person and online. You will see the hundreds of podcast episodes and the thousands of downloads. You will see all the shining accolades, but it wasn’t always this way. Every story has a beginning. You may have been around for a minute or you may be an OG who has been around for a while, but one of the questions I get asked THE MOST is “How the heck did this community start?” You might be wondering that yourself. So I wanted to share that story with you here:

It all started in August of 2017.

But before I can tell you what happened in August, we have to go back to January of that year.

In January of 2017, I embarked on my first round of infertility treatments. I decided to document the journey by going live on my personal facebook page as a way to bring my family and friends and my community along with me.

I was naive in the process and actually had no idea of the success rates. I thought going this route was a guarantee and no one actually told me otherwise.

I know that might sound crazy, but you don’t know what you don’t know. When that first round failed, I was shocked and devastated. Up until that moment, no doctor had ever told me that there was a chance it wouldn’t work. I was so taken aback by the whole process and utterly depressed. After publicly sharing live that it had failed and not sure what to do next, I spent the next few months going inward.

It was in those months that I stumbled upon a group that introduced me to gratitude and manifestation and mindset work. And let me tell you, I was skeptical. First of all, I didn’t really trust women. If I am being completely honest, there weren’t a lot of women that I liked. Women got on my nerves and I was always quick to say I got along with the guys better. It was the cattiness, the gossip and the mean-girl mentality that got me. I could do without it. I know you know what I mean. But this group of women opened my eyes. They showed me that not all women are like that. They showed me a different way. These women showed me what it was like to be supported and to root for one another and celebrate one another. They showed me what was possible when we collaborated with one another instead of competing with each other. I was memorized. By the time I turned 30 that summer, I didn’t recognize myself. I had found an online community that helped me to begin to transform from the inside out, but in person, I was still trying to find that in my own backyard.

I found myself craving a community of women who just got me and would accept me for who I was with all of my flaws and embrace me wholeheartedly. I wanted to create what I had experienced online in that group in person, locally.  So in August of 2017,  I made a crappy graphic on Canva and posted it on Facebook inviting local women to come and join me at a winery for a glass of champagne and connection. I honestly didn’t think anyone would show up.

But 12  women showed up that night and instantly connected. That night, when the women left asking when the next meet up was, I knew I was on to something.

Within 6 months we were hosting our first fundraiser, which turned into an annual event. Since the beginning, we have hosted almost 1000 women collectively and raised over $17,000 for our local community.

We’ve had a brick and mortar boutique and center for women to come and hang out, we’ve hosted retreats, brunches, girls’ trips to Nashville, wellness outings and so much more. The best part:

WE ARE JUST GETTING STARTED!

We’ve had some pivots along the way and I can honestly say that today I have a much clearer vision of what it is that I desire to do with this community than I did ever before. I am excited  and honored to spearhead this movement and I am so grateful that you are here because without you, this wouldn’t be possible!

From Day One the pillars and the foundation of all that we do come down to three things:

  1. Gratitude- Gratitude has literally saved and changed my life. It is the heartbeat of all that I do. Heck, I even wrote a book about it! In this community, gratitude is the way we start each morning, it is weaved into everything we do because I know firsthand how powerful it is. I can’t wait to share more of that with you!

  2. Self Care- Girl, trust me, I get it. We’ve been programmed to put all of our duties and responsibilities ahead of ourselves and while there is a shift happening in our culture, it is still not the norm to pour into ourselves FIRST. The MOST listened episode of the podcast is all about how we should not pour from our cups AT ALL. Self Care isn’t selfish, it’s vital to our wellbeing. Around here, we prioritize ourselves without judgment or shame.

  3. Giving Back- This isn’t just about us. I am a firm believer in legacy building and the more I have, the more I have to give. The community is impact driven. We truly are only as strong as the woman next to us. So it is our responsibility to show up not just for ourselves, but for her too. To be a mirror of possibility. In this community we give back through the various fundraisers we host throughout the year and a portion of our proceeds we use to bless women in our community. Collectively we have raised over $17,000 for local charities!

If you haven’t yet joined us, you can link arms in our FREE Community (off of social media) here. Come be a part of the movement. All of you is welcome here.
